Hello.I just upgraded to Windows 7 and my firewire camcorder is not detected anymore by Windows. Then when it is actually trying to install the driver the 'Installing driver software.' Window just keeps going on and on.After about 4-5 minutes then it returns an error message indicating the processtimed out. Please help! Thanks a lot in advance.Carlos R. Hi Vivan.Thank you very much for replying to this message.
My camera is JVC and I don't remember the exact model at this moment (I can follow up on this one at a later time).however, the only driver that came with it was a USB driver to access still pictures storedin an SD card. No IEEE 1394 driver was ever supplied with it. The first time I hooked it to the firewire port under XP it was detected automatically by the OS.I understand the legacy driver comes bundled in Windows 7. Any idea why the installation of this driver times out?I'll try what you recommend about uninstalling the driver and restarting the computer.Thanks,Carlos.
